Students Explore Careers and Help Children Start School

As North Carolina families go back to school, UNC student Marianne Bahna ’27 (MPH) had already helped address a challenge that can keep children out of the classroom before the first bell even rings.

In the spring, Bahna served as project lead for a micro-internship through the Robert A. Ingram Institute for Healthcare Access addressing a critical barrier: Some children can’t start school because they can’t access the required health appointments to enroll.
