Service Hours

During spring break, on-campus services hours may change. Visit the department's website for additional information and updated hours of operation.

  • Campus Health: Campus Health and CAPS will be open until 5 pm weekdays and Saturdays during Spring Break. Any time Campus Health or CAPS are closed, patients can receive 24/7 support by calling 919-966-2281 for UNC Nurse Connect and on-call providers and 919-966-3658 for CAPS 24/7.
  • Campus Rec: Break Hours begin Saturday the 11th. Both Fetzer and SRC will be open weekends from noon - 6 pm and weekdays from 11 am - 8 pm.
  • Carolina Dining Services: Lenoir and Chase will close after lunch on Friday. Chase reopens for brunch through dinner on Sunday 3/19 and Lenoir reopens for dinner only on the 19th. Many additional locations on campus are open during weekdays. Students can can use flex to order delivery to anywhere on campus from Takeout Central (access to delivery from over 30 local restaurants), Brenz Pizza, Domino’s and Wings Over Chapel Hill.
  • Many local restaurants are open and are also offering take-out and delivery options.   • Carolina Union: The Carolina Union will be open until 5pm on weekdays during spring break beginning Friday, March 10th. The Union will be closed on weekends. They will reopen on Sunday, March 19th from 8am until 5pm and then resume regular hours. 
  • Libraries: The UL and Davis will close at 5pm on Friday 3/10, be open on weekdays from 10 am - 5 pm during spring break, and then reopen with regular hours on Sunday 3/19. Additional library hours vary by facility.
  • Chapel Hill Transit: The Safe Ride route will not operate between March 10 to March 19, 2023.
  • UNC Student Stores: UNC Student Stores are maintaining standard hours which are 8 a.m. – 6 p.m., during weekdays and 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. on weekends. Student Stores Pharmacy will close at 5:00 pm on weekdays during spring break.

Events

  • March 10 - Poetry Jam at Lanza's Cafe in Carrboro. Bring your journal or any piece that moves you and share your heart, for but a moment, at Lanza's Cafe!
  • March 11 - Visit the Chapel Hill Farmers Market to support local farmers
  • March 11 & 12 - They Do Not Know Harlem by Tristan André. PlayMakers presents a World Premiere written and performed by UNC Alum, Tristan André. UNC Student tickets are $10. Faculty/Staff get 15% off ticket prices
  • March 17 - Join Rams Head Recreation for free climbing for UNC Employees. Stay active with us during your lunch break! 
  • March 19 - Shop handmade crafts and creations from 30+ talented local makers, enjoy awesome eats, and much more at the Bazaar Craft and Art Market in Carrboro.

WELL-BEING

With the break in routine and and brief change in environment can come some stressors. Whether that's from travel plans, family, or overwhelming assignments, it can be tough. Here are some strategies to maintain well-being over the break:

FINANCIAL WELLNESS

  • Make a budget and hold yourself accountable to it by tracking your spending. Say no to those things that aren't in your budget.
  • Avoid comparing your spring break to everyone else's. Try to be content with what you have and where you are.
