A pop-up serenity space for students is now open for students to use as we strive to continue our culture of compassion and care and approach the end of the fall 2024 semester. Located in the Class of 2000 lounge on the third floor of the Frank Porter Graham Student Union, the space features both high- and low-sensory areas for students to relax and recharge.
- Yoga zone — Complete with blankets, yoga mats, and instructions for basic yoga poses;
- Low-sensory zone — Featuring ambient noise, space to relax and meditate and lower lighting;
- High-sensory zone — Featuring brighter lights, ambient noise, fidget spinners, comfortable seating and more;
- Activity zone — Featuring play-doh, puzzles, coloring books, and more.
The pop-up serenity space launched with support from undergraduate student government, Graduate and Professional Student Government, Student Affairs, and Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS).
