Important COVID-19 Update: Student Requirements Dashboard on ConnectCarolina

December 17, 2020 |

Dear Carolina students,

Our COVID-19 Community Standards define individual actions that, when we all act together, help to protect the Carolina community. For the spring, these standards include:

  • wearing a mask
  • staying six feet apart
  • complying with all University, local and state gathering limits
  • monitoring your health and symptoms every day and
  • participating in our Carolina Together Testing Program.

Whether you are on or off-campus, your individual actions affect your friends, family members and others around you, making compliance with our community standards a critical part of keeping our campus open and safe. Today, we ask you to log into ConnectCarolina and complete two important steps no later than January 6:

  1. Update the physical address where you are living and your phone number for the spring semester.
  2. Complete the COVID-19 Student Acknowledgement.

These features are available now, so we encourage you to complete both these steps during one visit to ConnectCarolina. All students must acknowledge they have read and will follow the COVID-19 Community Standards in order to participate in spring classes. You must fulfill this requirement regardless of your location or mode of instruction. The deadline to complete the acknowledgement is Wednesday, January 6.

In addition, as part of the Carolina Together Testing Program, all students must provide a phone number and update the address where they are living for the semester, or the address where they will live during the spring semester. If you live in on-campus housing, Granville Towers or in a fraternity or sorority house, your address will be pre-filled and can only be changed by Campus Housing, Granville, or your Greek organization, but you are required to provide a phone number. The deadline to update your contact information is Wednesday, January 6.

You can fulfill these requirements by logging into ConnectCarolina and visiting the *Student Requirements Dashboard. To complete the local address requirement, you must provide your address and a cell phone number (or a reliable contact number if you do not own a cell phone).

To complete the COVID-19 Community Standards requirement, you must acknowledge that you have visited and read the Carolina Together website and that you have read and agree to the spring student acknowledgement.

You must complete each of these requirements by January 6 in order to participate in classes this spring. To help you plan and keep you on track, we have provided a Prior to Arrival Checklist for reference.

Thank you for your commitment to keeping our Carolina community safe and well.  Go Heels!

Sincerely,

Amy Johnson
Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs
