Happy Heel-o-ween!

It’s Halloween week at Carolina, and for those students looking for fun and spooky activities, there is plenty to do on campus.

CUAB Carnival Time

Celebrate Halloween with the Carolina Union Activities Board Halloween Carnival on Sunday, Oct. 31, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in The Pit! Students can participate in many fun games and activities — including mini-golf, axe throwing, and sand art to name a few! — to earn tickets that can be exchanged for a variety of prizes, while enjoying free food! More details about all CUAB events can be found on FacebookInstagram or Twitter.

Stay Active

Campus Rec offers a number of chances to experience chills and thrills, all while raising the heart rate. From Glow Diving to Wall Climbing, there is something for everyone.

Something for Everyone

In the mood for dancing? Pumpkin decorating? A movie? Many more Tar Heel Halloween events this week can be found at go.unc.edu/Halloween.

Residence Hall Tricks and Treats

For our Tar Heels living on campus, every residence hall is hosting hauntingingly fun events for those who feel like staying closer to home. RHA has planned Halloween events and programs across campus to help celebrate the spooky season right. These events are open to any on campus resident!

Heading Out?

For those students interested in heading off campus, the Town of Chapel Hill urges everyone to find safe ways to celebrate Halloween and keep Franklin Street – and the surrounding area – open to vehicle traffic. The Town is encouraging everyone in the community to avoid celebrating in large crowds, even outside, and to find other ways to enjoy Halloween. The Orange County Health Department has developed a guide of safer alternatives for this year at orangecountync.gov/Halloween.

Interested in trying something a little different? Here is a list of fun Halloween activities in the Triangle.

Staying Safe

It is important to think of potential risks for both COVID-19 and substance use safety this Halloween. If you want to celebrate safely, make a Halloween plan: decide in advance what activities you are comfortable with, who your Halloween buddies are, and how you are going to celebrate and get home safely.

For more safety tips and resources (and some trick-or-treating), be sure to check out Safetoberfest this Wednesday, Oct. 27, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Morrison Res Hall Basketball Court!! Get your event passport stamped, and get a free T-Shirt!

Happy Hauntings, Carolina!
