Data Matters: Software Development Best Practices in R

Sponsored by the UNC Chapel Hill Odum Institute, Data Matters™ is a week-long series of intensive one and two-day online courses aimed at students and professionals in business, research, and government.

Every data scientist is also a software developer. Whether they are creating simple visualizations or complex machine learning systems, there is significant coding that goes into every analysis. Software developers have created numerous tools and procedures to make the software development process easier,  more efficient, and more collaborative, as well as to promote quality control. This course covers a number of these tools, with a particular focus on applications to data analytics in R. Specifically, we will cover version control, package development, and automated testing.

Registration and fee are required to receive Zoom link. Zoom link and welcome packet will be emailed shortly before the event for those registered. Attendance is required as no sessions will be recorded.
