Veda Patil is a first-year Political Science and English double major with a minor in Statistics. Veda works at the Marian Creek Jackson Center for Saving and Making History as her Bonner Community partner. Veda has a special interest in civil rights and liberties, educational opportunity, local history preservation, and the power of stories. In high school, Veda was an active member on the Mock Trial and Speech and Debate teams, and she has also participated in publications at her school’s literary magazine. Veda is an Editor for the political organization We Too Are America, which aims to share and celebrate immigrant stories and experiences. At UNC, Veda is a member of the South Asian literacy magazine and social justice group Monsoon.
