University Career Services Offers Professional Network for Career Advisers

August 4, 2020 |

As the fall semester launches, University Career Services is planning a series of programs and events for the Carolina Career Community (C3), a professional network of faculty and staff on campus who provide career advising or employer relations. The first event of the season is the C3 Virtual Welcome Back Event at 3 p.m. Aug. 5, and it is open to anyone working on campus who is interested in learning more about C3. The event will highlight C3 resources, University Career Services resources, and lessons learned since going virtual back in March, followed by a virtual social hour

Nadia Korobova, associate director of UCS and chair of C3, says that although the group grew to 130 members last year, she still thinks there are staff and faculty working in this area on campus who could benefit from the C3 programming and membership.

“As a network of people working in the same field on the same campus, this group has become an invaluable resource for best practices and information sharing,” Korobova said. “We are hoping to grow the community in academic year 20-21 because we all benefit from our collective knowledge and experience.”

The Carolina Career Community maintains a membership listserv; hosts an annual conference, a brown bag lunch series and professional development webinars; and distributes a monthly membership newsletter. Korobova says they have already built an event calendar for Fall 2020. Learn more about Fall C3 Events.
