Student Org Spotlight: Les Francophiles

Bonjour Tar Heels! If you’re looking to refine your French speaking skills, regardless of your speaking level, look no further than the Les Francophiles.  

1. What is Les Francophiles about? 
   We are a club that creates a welcoming space for people to come together and practice their French languages skills and learn more about Francophone culture! With our weekly conversation hours and monthly events, we hope to be help students create lifelong connections through language. 

2. How do you help students? 
   We help students by providing a place for people to practice their French speaking skills in a low-stress environment. We also help students make connections and friendships with other people who also love French and Francophone culture.   

3. What do you like most about being a member of Les Francophiles? 
   One of the best parts of being a member is the sense of community among the members! We can always lean on each other and ask our burning questions about the culture and language without the looming threat of being graded. 

4. Do you have any language learning resources to share? 
   We have a collaborative Spotify playlist of French songs titled UNC Francophiles which is a great way to learn about culture and the language. Forvo.com is also a great resource for learning the pronunciation of specific words. 

5. How can students get involved with Les Francophiles? 
   Regardless of where someone is on their French language learning journey, our club is open for anyone to join at any point in the semester! The best way they can get involved is to come to one of our weekly conversation hours or drop by one of our fun events!
