Student Affairs finance fosters student success by providing expert knowledge and a commitment to excellence through the management of financial resources for Student Affairs, while upholding the financial integrity of the University. Amber Ali
Amber Ali, a strategic leader with over 25 years of experience in management, business, and finance, joined UNC-Chapel Hill in 2019. She holds a bachelor of science in accounting and an MBA with a concentration in business analytics. With a background spanning higher education, federal government, and corporate sectors, she specializes in strategic planning, budget management, financial analysis, and stakeholder engagement. Passionate about student and staff success, Amber leads Student Affairs finance with a focus on process improvements, operational efficiencies, and fostering strong campus partnerships.

Hala Hanna
Hala Hanna, associate finance director for Student Affairs at UNC-Chapel Hill, joined in 2015 and brings over 25 years of diverse professional experience. She holds a bachelor of science in accounting and commerce and provides finance leadership, guidance, and budget management at the division level. Specializing in financial analysis, budget preparation, and strategic planning, she previously supported business services for the Carolina Union and 800+ student organizations. Known for her analytical skills, technical expertise in PeopleSoft, and collaborative approach, Hala is dedicated to enhancing the financial and operational success of Student Affairs.

Lori Bernard
Lori Bernard brings over 20 years of professional experience, including nine in higher education. She holds a bachelor of science in international business and joined UNC-Chapel Hill in 2024 after working at UNC-Charlotte. Passionate about collaborating with the Student Affairs community, she values the connections she builds at Carolina. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family.

Brenda Hampshire
Brenda Hampshire joined UNC-Chapel Hill in 2022 as the assistant director of the OVC business hub, bringing over 20 years of experience in accounting and finance across universities, state agencies, hospitals, and small businesses. She holds an MBA from UNC-Greensboro and is a CPA. Before UNC-Chapel Hill, Brenda served in various roles at UNC-Greensboro, including business officer and budget analyst, where she worked closely with program directors managing auxiliary budgets for housing, parking, and dining.

Dani Callahan
Dani Callahan is the business officer in the Student Affairs OVC Business Hub, supporting over a dozen departments within the Office of the Vice Chancellor. She joined Student Affairs in 2022 after serving in various business roles at Carolina Performing Arts. A proud Tar Heel, Dani earned a bachelor of arts in history and global studies from UNC-Chapel Hill in 2018. In her free time, she enjoys reading, caring for her and her partner’s fish and reptiles, and sewing her own clothes.

Maddie Gantt
Maddie Gantt joined UNC-Chapel Hill in 2024 as an accounting specialist. She holds a bachelor of science in accounting from Penn State and has prior experience in the finance industry. As a military spouse, she enjoys exploring the outdoors, traveling to new places, and spending time with family and friends.

Marcus Bullett
Marcus Bullett is a business officer in Student Affairs, supporting New Student & Family Programs. With over 20 years of experience in state finance, including 15 years at UNC-Chapel Hill, he brings extensive expertise to his role. He holds a bachelor of science in business administration from Virginia Commonwealth University and an associate of science in accounting from Liberty University. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family, coaching youth sports, and staying physically active.

Kimberly McCown
Kim McCown is the director for business and support services with Campus Health. A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, she has been with UNC-Chapel Hill since 1992.

Janice Singletary
Janice Singletary has served as the business services manager with Campus Health since 2019. She began her career at UNC-Chapel Hill in 2015, working in the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs. Janice holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Elon University.

Carolyn Butler
Carolyn Butler is a business officer with Campus Health and has worked in finance and accounting at UNC-Chapel Hill since 2017. Originally from Gainesville, Florida, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and three children, traveling, and watching her kids play sports. A proud pet owner, she dreams of owning a hobby farm with alpacas and cows.

Tiwana Hopper-Gould
Tiwana Hopper-Gould joined UNC-Chapel Hill in 2024 as the director of business services for the Carolina Union and has worked in higher education since 2008. She holds a doctorate in leadership in ministry and theology, a master’s in religious education, a bachelor of science in business administration and accounting, and an associate’s in business administration.
Anastasia Polk-Bethea
Anastasia Polk-Bethea has worked in higher education since 2007, with experience in finance, contracts and grants, and student accounts. She holds a bachelor of science in accounting and an MBA with a concentration in Management. In her spare time, she enjoys binge-watching movies, bowling, and spending time with family.

Marsha Bailey
Marsha Bailey joined the Carolina Union as the business officer in 2023. She has worked in various financial and leadership roles for the state of North Carolina since 2006. Marsha holds a bachelor of science degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, with minors in business and communication.

Yolanda Jefferson
Yolanda Jefferson is the business services specialist in the Carolina Union. She joined UNC-Chapel Hill in 2015 and has been with the Carolina Union since 2018. With over 20 years of experience as a finance professional, she brings extensive expertise to her role.

H’Blem Kpa-Sanchez
H’Blem Kpa-Sanchez joined UNC-Chapel Hill in 2023 as an accounting specialist on the Carolina Union’s business and finance team. She holds a bachelor of science in business management from North Carolina A&T State University.

Celia Reavy
Celia Reavey joined UNC-Chapel Hill in 2025 and is a recent graduate of North Carolina State University. She gained experience in bookkeeping and inventory management while working at a plant nursery and now applies those skills to support University Temporary Services at both NCSU and UNC-Chapel Hill. Outside of work, she enjoys traditional handicrafts and gardening.
