OFSL-CI staff member Ion Outterbridge and the UNC NPHC Executive board participated in the fifth installment of Miseducation of the Black Greek ROADTRIP! in Atlanta, GA. This innovative, full-immersion conference was designed to empower undergraduate members of historically African-American Collegiate Greek-lettered fraternities and sororities, student service professionals and advisors who work closely with these groups with an interest in learning more about these organizations and how to work more effectively with them. At the conference, the executive members of NPHC were able to learn practical skills necessary for operating a successful chapter and create imaginative programming ideas to implement on their campuses. Our students were challenged by relevant, thought-provoking, and culturally significant discussions. The student leaders were also able to develop key connections with peers, other advisors, and experts in the field. The conference provided an invaluable experience that empowered the students to be agents of change in the BGLO community, while maintaining the tradition and integrity of their organizations.
