Enjoy Your Wellness Days

Dear Carolina Students,

Our second set of student Wellness Days is this week: March 11-12. I hope you can use these days to relax, recharge and enjoy some spring sunshine.

We know the social isolation during the pandemic has been difficult, particularly when engaging with friends is an important part of the college experience. Consider using your Wellness Days to connect with other students safely, focus on your mental health and get support by accessing any of the following:

For even more peer support programs, including those tailored for specific student groups, visit heellife.unc.edu. And this week the University is hosting a Total Wellbeing Virtual Wellness Week for faculty and staff, but the programs are open to everyone in the Carolina community, so be sure to explore those offerings, too.

Lastly, on Monday the Carolina Together Testing Program sent an email reminding you about asymptomatic COVID-19 testing for Wellness Days. As we noted last time, while we strongly encourage you not to travel out of the area, if you must do so, you’re expected to test immediately upon your return and again in the following week.

Be safe, take good care, and enjoy your long — and hopefully sunny — weekend!

Sincerely,

Amy Johnson
Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs
