Go Heels! UNC-Chapel Hill vs. Duke Basketball Game

February 2, 2024 |

As the Tar Heels gear up to play that other team down the road this weekend, we wanted to make sure you keep these tips in mind to stay safe and well:

  • Stay hydrated: Drink water throughout the game.
  • Safe and easy transportation: The Town of Chapel Hill’s website offers great information for students and community members about parking and traffic. Check out the Tar Heel Express bus service, too!
  • Wear comfortable clothes and shoes: Be sure you’re dressed comfortably from head to toe — and prepared for the potential of being on your feet for long stretches of time.
  • Layer up: It’s supposed to be nice weather leading up to the game, but by the time it ends, temperatures are expected to drop. Be prepared for warm and cool weather with layers that can accommodate both.
  • Stay safe: Remember that our campus is part of a larger community in Chapel Hill. Check out these dos and don’ts from the Town of Chapel Hill to enjoy the game together, no matter the outcome.
  • Call if you need help: If you need emergency assistance before, during, or after the game, call 911 or locate a first responder — they’ll be in uniform and wearing reflective vests.

Let’s all do our part to create a safe, welcoming, and celebratory environment for everyone.
