Mixed Methods Learning Series: Mixed Methods Analysis in MAXQDA: Analytic Strategies With and Without AI
The course begins with an orientation to mixed methods research, focusing on design types and analytic methods, and an overview of the architectural structure and features of MAXQDA designed for these purposes. After we set the methodological and computational landscape, participants will be guided through a mixed methods analysis via demonstrations and hands-on exercises. Sample data will be used, including qualitative data of different types (e.g. open-ended survey responses, transcripts, reports etc) and numerical data related to those materials (e.g. categorical variables and other metadata). Through a series of practical hands-on exercises, participants will set up an analysis in MAXQDA, and be introduced to qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods analysis features.
Participants will leave the course with options for designing and implementing a mixed methods analysis using MAXQDA’s tools, and ideas about whether and how AI Assistance may facilitate the process. Participants do not need to be familiar with MAXQDA to attend this course, and trial versions of the software will be made available for the purposes of the sessions, along with sample data to be used throughout. A general understanding of mixed methods research will be of benefit, but is not an essential pre-requisite to attend.
Registration and fee are required to receive Zoom link. Zoom link and welcome packet will be emailed shortly before the event for those registered. Attendance is required as no sessions will be recorded. Early Bird Pricing available until 7/14/26.
