Campus Pharmacy Undergoes Name Change

UNC Chapel Hill, North Carolina – UNC Campus Health Services Pharmacy has concluded the contest to rename what was formerly known as the OTC (over-the-counter) Pharmacy. Jani Radhakrishnan, an Environmental Health Sciences major in the School of Public Health, submitted the chosen entry of “Healthy Heels Shoppe” to win a coveted iPad mini.

The contest to rename the service was open to all UNC students and post-docs. Submissions were accepted from early November until mid-December via Facebook and Twitter as well as in submission boxes throughout Campus Health Services.

The Pharmacy staff chose the winning entry from the over 300 name submissions. Feedback was also gathered from Campus Health administrators and staff as well as the Campus Health Student Advisory Committee.

The Campus Health Services Pharmacy offers an easy-to-access full service pharmacy to UNC students and post-docs. The Healthy Heels Shoppe is a part of that service and is the convenient stop for all your over-the-counter healthcare needs. “Our new name, Healthy Heels Shoppe, reflects all that we offer – not only low cost and evidence-based over-the-counter medications, but also travel supplies, skin care products, nutrition bars, and a wide assortment of other items to keep our students healthy,” said Amy Sauls, Pharmacy Director.

An open house celebration is planned for the near future. Details will be communicated via our website and social media feeds.

The Healthy Heels Shoppe is located on the ground floor of Campus Health Services, right next door to the Pharmacy. To learn more about all of the Pharmacy services, go to campushealth.unc.edu/pharmacy.
