Youth Behavioral Health: Strengthening Protective Factors, Strengthening Futures–INSPIRED Lab Prevention Science Summit
Join the INSPIRED Lab at the University of North Carolina (UNC) School of Social Work (SSW) as it hosts its Inaugural Prevention Science Summit, a 2‑hour virtual webinar event during National Prevention Week. This timely, national gathering brings together leaders from research, practice, policy, and public sectors to examine the current state of prevention science and explore how to strengthen prevention efforts nationwide with a primary focus on youth behavioral health.
The Summit will feature a keynote address by Dr. Trenette Clark Goings, Sandra Reeves Spears and John B. Turner Distinguished Professor and Director of the INSPIRED Lab, School of Social Work at UNC Chapel Hill, followed by a panel discussion with leaders whose work is shaping the future of prevention through research, practice, public policy, and systems leadership.
Featured panelists include Dr. James C. Anthony, Professor of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, College of Human Medicine at Michigan State University; State Representative Zack Hawkins of North Carolina House District 31; Amiyah Witherspoon, Master of Public Health (MPH) Leadership in Practice Student, Gillings School of Global Public Health at UNC Chapel Hill; Kelly Crosbie, Assistant Secretary for Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities, and Substance Use Services at the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, moderated by Dr. Melissa Villodas, Assistant Professor, Department of Social Work at George Mason University.
