Write On! Therapeutic Writing Retreat

Take a mindful pause and explore the power of words. Writing can be a simple yet profound way to reduce stress, process emotions, and connect more deeply with yourself. During this one-hour retreat, you’ll experience guided therapeutic writing exercises inspired by the work of J.W. Pennebaker, Ph.D., and J.F. Evans, Ed.D., designed to help you slow down, reflect, and release.
You’ll be introduced to several styles of therapeutic writing — from expressive and letter-writing to gratitude writing. You will be given writing prompts and your writing will remain private and not shared. Any student – undergraduate, graduate, professional, or post-doc – is welcome to attend. The retreat will begin and close with a meditation.
Whether you’re curious about how writing can support your wellbeing or just want a calm, creative space to breathe and reflect, this retreat is for you. Come with an open mind and a willingness to write your way toward greater clarity and calm.
Registrations are limited to 15 people. On the day of the event, check in at the CAPS front desk on the 3rd floor of Campus Health.
