Research in Exercise and Sport Science
Many students who are majoring within Exercise and Sport Science at UNC-CH are passionate individuals with goals to serve the population through medicine, personal training, physical therapy, and occupational therapy. The field of medicine, therapy, and sports psychology is constantly progressing due to research that is conducted from teams of professionals like the ones who make up UNC-CH’s Exercise and Sport Science Department. Moreover, with many students wishing to serve populations through the research that is gained through exercise and sport science, it is important that they know how this research is conducted and where they can go to help contribute to this research. Many students within the Pre-Physical-Occupational Therapy club also have a desire to go and meet new people. This event being held in person would be an opportunity for any science-majoring student to go and learn about rigorous, academic research while making new connections with other students and faculty.
The premise of this event would be to shed light upon the collaboration within the field of exercise and sport science and how the research conducted by faculty at UNC-CH translates into practical knowledge used to advance the fields of physical and occupational therapy.
