Introduction to Git and Github
This beginner-friendly workshop is designed to help you build confidence with version control and collaborative coding. In this session, you’ll learn the basics of Git, including how to track changes, manage project history, and recover earlier versions of your work. You’ll also explore GitHub, a platform built on Git, which allows code sharing, collaboration, and project organization. You will leave with a practical understanding of key concepts and the skills to start using Git and GitHub in your own work.
No prior experience with Git or GitHub is required. This workshop is ideal for anyone working on research projects, digital humanities, data analysis, or software development.
This workshop is offered by the University Library and will be led by librarians Matt Jansen and Rolando Rodriguez.
