Sponsored by the UNC Chapel Hill Odum Institute, Data Matters™ is a week-long series of intensive one and two-day online courses aimed at students and professionals in business, research, and government.

This single day Intermediate Python course focuses on applying Python to the analysis of both qualitative and quantitative data in real-world contexts. Designed for participants with basic Python experience, the course explores practical techniques for working with structured and unstructured data, including data cleaning, transformation, exploratory analysis, and introductory visualization. Learners will use Python to identify patterns, summarize findings, and support evidence-based conclusions, gaining hands-on experience with tools and workflows commonly used in modern research and analytics. By the end of the day, participants will be equipped to use Python as an effective analytical tool across a range of disciplines.
