Computational Neuroscience Career Panel (Virtual)

Interested in computational neuroscience? Join us for the third event of our ongoing virtual panel series featuring researchers from leading institutions as they share their paths into the field, the skills that matter most, and what it’s like to use computational approaches to better understand the brain. Each panel will include brief introductions from our panelists, followed by a moderated discussion and live audience Q&A. Come learn more about opportunities in computational neuroscience, hear about different paths into the field, and ask researchers your own questions. Whether you’re already interested in computational neuroscience or just curious to learn more, all students are welcome!

Friday, October 19th 2:00–3:00 PM E.T.

Location: Zoom

Panelists:

Dr. Daniel Levenstein (Yale) – Biologically-inspired neural networks • Sleep & spontatneous brain activity • Hippocampal spatial representation

Dr. Stephanie Noble (Northeastern) – Inference & prediction • Large-scale neuroimaging analysis • Precision neuroscience

Dr. Shantanu Jadhav (Brandeis) – Optogenetics • Memory-guided decision making • Hippocampal sharp-wave ripples

Dr. Dustin Scheinost (Yale) – Functional connectomics • Predictive modeling • Early brain development We encourage all interested students to attend!
