Carolina History Tour
Learn more about the history of the nation’s first public university by attending a Carolina History Tour. The Carolina History Tours cover more than 200 years of the history of UNC-Chapel Hill, including the establishment of the university in the 18th century, the history of campus landmarks including the Old Well, Davie Poplar, and Unsung Founders Memorial, the push to open enrollment to all North Carolinians, and the growth of the school in the 20th and 21st centuries. Tours will begin at the Old Well and finish at Wilson Library. Most tours last a little over an hour.
Led by staff from the Wilson Special Collections Library, these tours are part of the University Library’s commitment to collecting, preserving, and sharing the history of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
