Students are invited to a webinar from 5:30 to 7 p.m. EDT on June 11. We will share with you the process we have employed to create the Carolina Roadmap and address some of the ideas, opportunities and questions we have heard. We will be joined by student leaders and administrators responsible for various aspects of summer and fall 2020 planning, including research, teaching, student engagement and our community standards. Several of our infectious disease and public health faculty experts will also join. We want to hear your input as we collectively build our community standards for this fall semester.

As we contemplate the best path forward, we do so recognizing that we are still learning about this virus. Predicting where we will be in August with certainty is impossible. We have already heard from many students, faculty, and staff that they want to return to campus, and from others who are, understandably, reluctant. Any plan we employ will place the safety and well-being of our campus community paramount to all other considerations, and we will be as flexible as possible with those who may need to pursue their studies away from campus. The Roadmap we will ultimately follow will have many off-ramps and options to respond to the prevailing COVID-19 climate in our state.

If you would like to join the webinar, please register before 8 a.m. on Thursday, June 11 (ONYEN required). A link to the webinar will be sent to you before the event. We want to hear from you and will do our best to respond to your questions, thoughts and concerns. Due to the anticipated large audience, we are asking you to send any questions or comments in advance of Thursday’s event through this survey. If you are unable to join us live, the webinar will be recorded and linked on carolinatogether.unc.edu.
