Student Affairs Assessment Council

Student Affairs Assessment Council

The Assessment Council promotes and supports quality assessment activities for the improvement of programs, services, and operations in Student Affairs. The Council meets on the second Thursday of the month.

Purpose: The Assessment Council serves as a valuable resource to staff in Student Affairs. The Council works to create a culture of assessment in Student Affairs by helping colleagues articulate a need for assessment; utilize appropriate methodology; develop a comprehensive, understandable assessment tool and clarify how the results can be used.  This group acts as a critical mechanism for advancing assessment across the organization. Council members serve as internal resources for their unit on assessment planning and reporting.

Goals: The Council sets annual goals based on organizational needs. Broadly characterized, goals include: conducting assessment at the organizational level, providing departmental leadership for assessment, developing assessment capacity across the organization, and developing and implementing communication around assessment.
