SUMMARY:Tour: A Closer Look at "Ancestral Frequencies"
DESCRIPTION:Tour: A Closer Look at “Ancestral Frequencies”\n\nJoin Ackland Art Museum educators for a lively half-hour look at a small handful of artworks. These engaging conversational tours offer a closer look at and new perspectives on works on view at the Museum. Today’s tour looks at “Ancestral Frequencies: Selected Works by the MFA Class of 2026.”  \nThis is a free\, walk-in event – no RSVP required. \n  \nAbout the Exhibition: \n“Ancestral Frequencies” explores heritage and identity as mutable and shaped through fragments of memory\, migration\, ritual\, and imagination. This exhibition features the work of the graduating artists in the Class of 2026 earning a Master of Fine Arts in studio art: Rojano Mohammadzadeh\, CJ Murphy\, Michelle Lisa Polissaint\, Iris Moyan Wang\, and Wendy Yamilett. This cohort represents a wide breadth of cultural heritage and artistic media. In their art\, mythologies\, spiritual practices\, and historical narratives appear as living systems that shift as they move across time\, geography\, and cultural context. \n“Ancestral Frequencies: Selected Works by the MFA Class of 2026” is curated by Annah Lee\, cultural center manager for the Town of Holly Springs. \nThis exhibition is made possible by the generous support of Maryanna and Will Johnson. \n  \nImage: Iris Moyan Wang\, Chinese\, born 2000\, For You\, 2025\, acrylic on raw canvas\, 32 x 24 inches. Used with the artist’s permission. \n\n\n\n From Friday\, June 5\, 2026 1:00 PM\n to 1:30 PM EDT\n at Ackland Art Museum.

SUMMARY:Agentic AI
DESCRIPTION:Agentic AI\n\nWant to do more with AI? Agents can help. AI agents are designed to work toward specific goals and complete tasks with less step-by-step direction from the user. While they can be powerful and efficient tools\, giving them too much autonomy can also create problems. In this workshop\, you’ll learn what AI agents can do\, where their limits are\, and how to create and use your own using the UNC Library’s PromptLab. No prior experience with agents is required\, though participants who are new to generative AI may find it helpful to review our brief training videos before taking this workshop. \nThis workshop is offered by the University Libraries and will be led by librarians Michele Hayslett and Lorin Bruckner. \n\n\n\n From Wednesday\, July 8\, 2026 1:00 PM\n to 2:00 PM EDT\n at Online.
