SUMMARY:EMES Seminar Speaker - Dr. Robert Spencer\, Florida State University
DESCRIPTION:EMES Seminar Speaker – Dr. Robert Spencer\, Florida State University\n\nOrganic matter holds a richness of molecular-level information that can be linked to sources\, processing\, and ultimately its environmental role. In recent decades the rise of ultrahigh resolution mass spectrometry has led to enhanced ability in resolving organic matter molecular complexity and opening the black box linking organic matter to the rapidly changing world around us. Combining this technique with other analytical tools recent studies will be described that highlight from the Arctic to the Equator the human impact on the carbon cycle at the molecular level. Examples will focus on permafrost thaw in the Arctic\, the impact of agriculture in the tropics\, and the utility of glacier ecosystems for providing a window into anthropogenic impacts through depositional processes globally. Linking ultrahigh resolution mass spectrometry techniques to other analyses\, particularly the use of radiocarbon\, these examples highlight how humans are impacting the carbon cycle in a myriad of ways across a range of ecosystems. \nTo receive CLE Credit\, you must attend in person. \n\n\n\n From Wednesday\, April 22\, 2026 1:30 PM\n to 2:30 PM EDT\n at Mitchell Hall 005.

SUMMARY:CCF Encounter
DESCRIPTION:CCF Encounter\n\n  \nEncounter is our weekly worship and teaching night. \nEncounter is CCF’s weekly gathering where students come together to pursue a deeper relationship with God through worship\, prayer\, and Biblical teaching. Each week begins with a free dinner and time to socialize\, giving students the chance to relax\, build friendships\, and connect with others in the ministry. \nAfter dinner\, we move into a time of worship and prayer\, followed by a Bible-centered message exploring key themes that guide our walk with Jesus. We regularly break into small groups to pray for one another\, reflect on the teaching\, and talk about how we can live out God’s truth on campus and beyond. \nEncounter is more than just a weekly event — it’s a space where students are equipped and encouraged to grow as disciples of Jesus\, grounded in Scripture and supported by authentic community. Whether you’re new to the faith or looking to go deeper\, Encounter is a weekly rhythm that will challenge and inspire you. \nAt the heart of Encounter is CCF’s mission: to make disciples on campus who impact the world. This weekly rhythm helps students encounter God personally and collectively\, mature in their faith\, and be sent out to carry the gospel into every part of their lives. \n\n\n\n From Wednesday\, April 22\, 2026 6:30 PM\n to 7:30 PM EDT\n at Carolina Union 3203.

SUMMARY:Ballroom Dance Beginner Lessons
DESCRIPTION:Ballroom Dance Beginner Lessons\n\n\n\nJoin us for our beginner lessons! We teach you how to waltz\, tango\, cha-cha\, and much more! It doesn’t matter if you’ve never danced; if you’re interested in learning\, please join! Don’t worry if you don’t have a partner either\, we make sure no one dances alone. You are welcome to join at any point during the year and still gain a good understanding of what’s happening. Don’t worry if you’ve never danced before because this is geared toward absolute beginners. All you need is a pair of socks and yourself! \n  \nTuesday Lessons: These lessons focus on learning to dance with another individual and the basics of moving around the social dance floor. We alternate styles on Tuesday each week\, beginning with Latin dancing such as cha-cha\, rumba\, and swing and switching to smooth\, which is more the waltz and tango dances. The lesson goes from 7 to 8 p.m.\, and we leave time for dancers to practice social dancing on their own from 8 to 9 p.m. \n  \nWednesday Lessons: The Wednesday lessons will begin with a Latin-style dance lesson from 7 to 8 p.m. and a standard-style lesson from 8 to 9 p.m. These lessons focus more on technique and learning how to move your body. They will be beginner-friendly but get a little bit harder as time goes on. \nAfter the dues deadline\, they are members-only\, so please make sure to talk to a council member if you want to try it out! \n  \nGetting In Touch: If you’re interested in learning more about the team\, you can email us at hcreid@ad.unc.edu or join our listserv here: https://forms.gle/i1VADq7u4jaEZU7P9 \n\n\n \n \n\n\n\n From Wednesday\, April 22\, 2026 7:00 PM\n to 9:00 PM EDT\n at Woollen Gymnasium\, Room B017.
