B. Harris, M.Ed. Director of University Career Services 919.962.4481 marcia_harris@unc.edu Marcia B. Harris has been with UNC Chapel Hill as Director of University Career Services since 1982. Prior to that time, she was employed in the Career Services Offices of North Carolina State University and Meredith College. She has also worked in the insurance and advertising industries. Marcia has served as president of the Southeastern Association of Colleges and Employers (SACE) and the North Carolina College Personnel Association. She has been awarded UNC's C. Knox Massey Award for Distinguished Service and is the recipient of several prestigious awards in the career services field, including the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE)/Chevron Outstanding Achievement Award for Innovation, the NACE Award of Excellence for Technology, and the SACE Ajax-Griffin Distinguished Service Award. Marcia is co-author of The Parent's Crash Course in Career Planning: Helping Your College Student Succeed (VGM, April 1996) as well as several journal articles. She has been a consultant on college career issues for over twenty-five organizations including IBM, Philip Morris, and the CIA; and has been cited in publications such as Time, USA Today, and The Wall Street Journal. Marcia holds a bachelors degree from Vassar College and a masters degree from North Carolina State University. |
