Our Programs: Living with Compassion Living with a compassionate understanding of one
another
Organized
by a group of students, faculty, and staff, the workshop series "Living
with Compassion" gives UNC students the opportunity to address
issues crucial to life in our campus community.
The principal goal of the workshops is to create an environment
of open, free and honest exchange on such "hot topic" issues
as religion and spirituality, sexual orientation and identity, race
and ethnicity, politics, and class. We welcome suggestions for new topics.
Formats will vary from panel discussions and lectures
to small-group lunch discussions and all-day workshops. UNC staff and
faculty as well as Chapel Hill community leaders will usually be on
hand as moderators, facilitators, or lecturers.
Schedule
After a successful inaugural series of workshops, we plan
to offer "Living with Compassion" each semester, starting
in the fall of 2000. Please check back here at the beginning of fall
classes for dates and times.
