Who We Are:

Carolina After Dark is comprised of members of the Carolina Community at large who wish to grant funds that would be used as matching funds or seed money specifically to increase the number of late night activities offered on campus throughout the year.

What We Do:

Further, said activities would target specific times of the year. These dates have already been identified as peak times when students traditionally have not had much to do 'after dark.' We seek to help other organizations, namely student organizations, by providing a structure and support system for them to run late night events on campus.

We have all witnessed how the night of Fall Fest has quickly become a great Carolina tradition. It has a reputation of being fun, proactive and positive in building a fun Carolina community while providing activities late at night. It is our hope to replicate this success on a slightly more modest scale throughout the year.

What We Offer:

In addition to money, the committee that runs Carolina After Dark includes many campus "experts" in putting on successful programs. We can offer you technical assistance and other advise to make sure that your event is a successful one.

Obtaining Funds:

Applications are available on the web and are sent directly to all the members of the Carolina After Dark Committee, in which they look at each application and then discuss how CAD can best assist that program. The amount of assistance depends on many factors, however if an application does not meet the basic requirements, then no assistance can be awarded.

Requirements:

The program is designed for, accessible to, and open to all, UNC-CH Students.

The program is free for all UNC-CH Students.

The program is planned for traditional peak social times when students seek a variety of events to choose from. This has generally been on a Thursday, Friday, Saturday, or other significant holiday/celebration occasion, and primarily between the hours of 10pm and 2am.

The program is sponsored by at least two officially recognized UNC-CH student organizations, preferably two significantly different student groups. Program proposals submitted by multiple group collaborations may receive preferential review.
