Affairs Professional Enhancement Committee (SAPEC)
SAPEC has been established to promote the mission of the Division of Student Affairs, which is to assist in creating and maintaining an institutional climate that enables students to accomplish their educational goals. Essential to that mission are staff members who are informed, who are encouraged to avail themselves of educational opportunities that promote personal and professional development, and who are recognized and appreciated as vital members of the University community. More specifically, SAPEC is charged to develop and support programs that complement the academic mission of the University; implement a welcome and orientation program for new staff members in the Division of Student Affairs; proffer and support participating in educational opportunities for personal and professional development; disseminate to staff increased knowledge of Divisional services and programs; model and encourage the development of strong collegial relationships within the Division; create and maintain traditions of community within the Division; provide programs within the Division that foster awareness of diversity, and; support and recognize individual, departmental, and Divisional achievements.
