Koman Way Dedicated

Koman Way

The Koman Way is the walkway located between Fetzer Hall and the Stallings-Evans Sports Medicine Center and connects South Road to Stadium Drive. The beautiful brick path is the result of a $1 million gift from William “Bill”and Joan Koman. Bill Koman ‘56, acclaimed as one of the top linebackers in ACC history, had four stellar years at Carolina and 12 more years in the NFL.

His gift completes fundraising for the $8.3 million Stallings-Evans Sports Medicine Center which represents the culmination of collaboration between Student Affairs, the Department of Athletics and the College of Arts and Sciences. This cross-campus approach brings together the essence of Carolina’s academic and athletic missions, making the Center a critical resource for both preparing students for their future careers and caring for athletes during their time in Chapel Hill.
