Campus Y Launches Social Innovation Incubator

Campus Y Launches Social Innovation Incubator

The Campus Y is excited to announce the launch of UNC’s Social Innovation Incubator. It will provide important organizational resources to teams of students seeking to build and accelerate their innovative social ventures. The Incubator will be located on the third floor of the YMCA Building and will provide physical space and equipment to its resident teams, as well as legal, tax, communications, and other expert advice.

The Social Innovation Incubator supports the Innovate@Carolina Roadmap, UNC’s plan to help Carolina become a world leader in launching university-born ideas for the good of society. The Incubator is made possible through strategic campus partnerships with the Minor in Entrepreneurship, the Center for Global Initiatives, the Community Development Law Clinic at UNC School of Law, and BASE (Business Accelerator for Sustainable Entrepreneurship), a program of the Center for Sustainable Enterprise at UNC's Kenan-Flagler Business School. Doors will open in January 2012 and the application process is now open to qualified teams seeking to accelerate their social innovation ventures.
