The Dashboard is a convenient place to see the latest changes that have happened on Connect. It provides an easy way to see new files that have been uploaded, activity in groups you belong to and more. You can reorder the boxes (called "widgets") on the page by placing your mouse cursor in the part where the title is. You should see the cursor change to a 4 sided arrow. Click the left mouse button and hold it down and then drag the box where you want it to go.

You can add additional widgets to to your Dashboard by clicking on the "Click to add new widgets" box. Click on the name of a widget, then move it around to where you want it to be.
